A Wedding

Jeremy and Coady's Wedding

Last weekend I had the pleasure to see two good friends get married. Not only was I able to witness a joyful moment in a friends life I got a great opportunity to practice my photography skills. As you can see I have included a few from a set of 20 that I was pretty happy with. A little tweaking on photoshop gave me some great results.

On a deeper note the level of Christian influences throughout the service struck me. I’ve been to a few non-Christian weddings but none have left me feeling like how I felt on Saturday. It was made clear through out the services and in the speeches that a Christian marriage is not only between the couple but also with God, Ecclesiastes 4:12 shows us this. This covenant with God gives us some hope when we look at the world and the numerous amounts of marriages that fail. There will be trials and tribulation in all marriages but how relieving it is to know that you have a God who allows it for good (Romans 8:28 and Genesis 50:20). God’s will for good to come out of all trials and tribulations in marriage connects into a sermon preached at our church by Peter Hall. Overall Saturday was a great time to celebrate a marriage with some nice people.
Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NIV)

I bought this album after a 3 month obsession with joy division. In that 3 month period I watched Control 3 times, the joy division documentary once and 24hr party people once. Watching those 3 movies resulted in me buying the Joy division - 'Best of'. Buying the joy division best of led me to buying 'Primary colors' - The Horrors(which I enjoy). Even though I would put Joy division as one of my favorite bands my obsession has decreased and now I find and increased interest in New Order. I'm loving the layers of digital sounds found in new orders songs. My obsession is manifesting it self into a need to find You tube Gems. My favorite you tube find would be Anberlin's cover of True faith. No matter what band I'm into I always love to find out how a band transfers the sounds and feelings found on a record in to a live performance. New order certainly hasn't let me down. I have now found a couple of band t-shirt's I want to buy.

Leave a comment with your choice of the one I should get.

(I have officially blogged now and I feel like I have achieved something great )

In the begging

I have never kept a journal but I have always wanted to. The only thing that has stopped me is my laziness. It seems to me like the blog has become the modern day journal. As the computer seems to appeal to me more than a pen and paper I think I’m better off giving this a shot. The aim is to record my interests whether they are music, architecture, religion, travel or any other quirky thing that grabs my attention. I look forward to seeing where this goes.
